* The Demons took the state
Junior Olympics cross country
meet by storm on Sunday,
Nov. 8 at UW-Parkside.
Three first place finishes and
strong peformances all around!
Dedication is the story here.
Our runners continued to train
for almost another month after
school xc season ended, and
those going to national have
several more weeks of training
in colder weather. Demons are
strong and brave, bring it on!
* Bailey Wolf raced onto the area running scene in 2009, winning lots of road race age division firsts and even some overall female firsts. She wowed the crowd at the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon 5K with a time of 18:54. She went on for an age division 1st at the Bellin Run 10K, then first in the 1500 and 3000 at the state AND regional Junior Olympics track meet. Then came national in North Carolina, where she placed 5th in the 3000 and 6th in the 1500 (5:04 in pouring rain and puddles!). Bailey rocks!
* At the 2008 Wisconsin Junior Olympics cross country meet, the Demons ran strong once again. Morgan Jindra and Daniel Vopal placed fourth in the midget division, Anna Miller was sixth in youth girls, and Ryan Patterson and Emmett Delaney were sixth and eleventh in youth boys.
* The Distance Demons club won a national USA Track & Field grant for a new partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay. More about it here.
* At the 2007 Wisconsin Junior Olympics cross country meet, seven Demons ran, all qualified for national, and division places included 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th.
* Three Distance Demons did great at the 2007 national Junior Olympics cross country meet, two of them placing among the top 10% and one in the top 30%. Jake Egelhoff (Pulaski) placed 33rd out of 269 runners in the boys midget division, running 3000 meters in a time of 11:15. Chris Diedrich (De Pere) placed 77th in the same division in 11:41. Anna Miller (Green Bay) placed 35th out of 278 runners in the midget girls division in 11:55.
The meet took place in wet, cold conditions at the famous Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas, one of the most challenging and well-known cross country courses in the country.
